Something I really appreciate about the program...are the maintenance days. And not JUST because I eat more...but because it's practice for true maintenance. What a GENIUS IDEA. Not only are eat-up days resetting leptin to support the ability to lose, but practicing eating at that level reduces my anxiety around the question "can I maintain this? Is this truly doable?"
I've been up and down enough that simply losing weight does not interest me....I can lose weight. I'm interested in an NEW healthy and happy lifestyle to MAINTAIN the new normal.
Two years ago I lost 25 pounds over five months; I did it by eliminating sugar and going low carb and eating higher fat (great appetite regulator btw)....and this is now still my way of eating; it totally works for me. I've maintained that weight loss for two years...which I'm SO proud of (more satisfied with than the initial loss)....it's been pretty easy but not effortless. Oh, the joy of pulling out clothes for the next season and everything still fits....seriously makes the lifestyle adjustments worth it...and a real money and stress saver too.
